Nokia Theater Suites Grand Re-Opening

On Wednesday November 4th, Nokia Theater in Grand Prairie Texas hosted the grand re-opening of 11 of their luxury suites.  After seven years of operation the suites were given a face lift by  8 area interior designers.   The designers were given zero budgets and a one month deadline.  Charles Alan was involved with two suites both designed by Glen Boudreaux & Associates out of Dallas.
One of the two suites Chares Alan was involved with was Suite 5, the AEG suite "That's Entertainment".  The suites were individually named by their designer and tailored to suit the client.  The AEG suite (the management company of Nokia) hosts many celebrities and they needed a space in which their upscale guests feel at home.  With a sophisticated palette of grays and taupe's it gives the feeling of a high-end loft.  Brightly colored art, hand blown glass pendant lights, LED lighting built into custom banquettes gives the suite a fun atmosphere.
The second of the two suites, "Aint Life Grand" for the City of Grand Prairie.  They wanted a fun friendly and family oriented atmosphere with elegance and sophistication.  Playing off the name Grand Prairie, Glen started with a warm welcoming color scheme of sophisticated greens and  browns that reflect the Grand Prairie.
The suites tour was a big success; all the suites are currently featured in the November/December edition of DHome.  In addition, the designers were interviewed and will be featured on HDTV.

"Sewing Seeds of Hope" is an organization wiht teh Cathedral of Hope Church in Dallas.  The church serves the DFW homeless and those with Aids.  On Saturdays the offer a free breakfast adn lunch to many of the local homeless, they also have been giving free haircuts.  The fabrics that Charles Alan donates have been used for a variety of things, randing from book bags, crosses, and eyeglass holders.  The newest addition to the family of items is called Bagitz, which are gift bags for holidays, birthdays, and any other special occaisons.  With 100% of the proceeds going straight into the organizations pocket, they will be able to continue their mission at the church.  The church will be taking orders for the holidays, three Bagitz for $10 or four wine Bagitz for $10.
One of the biggest challenges for the group has been fining volunteers to dontate time to make the items.  The group has a plan to educate those who benefit from the items.  Donna Jackson with NuBax helped lead the effort in gathering the fabric.  Ohter items needed by the catherdral of Hope are snaps, thread, Velcro, zippers, buttons and other basic sewing materials.
Charles Alan plans to continue to dontate fabrics to the group.  If you know of any contacts or companies who would like to donate material, please e-mail Donna Jackson at djdonnajackson@gmail.com..
